Baked Spaghetti

Ingredients

  • 7.25 ounces uncooked spaghetti
  • 1 pound ground sirloin
  • 1 (8 ounce) package sliced cremini mushrooms
  • 24 ounce jar lower-sodium marinara sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces pre-shredded reduced-fat Italian-blend cheese (about 2 cups)
  • Basil leaves (optional)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cook pasta according to package directions, omitting fat and salt; drain.
  3. While pasta cooks, cook beef and mushrooms in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat 8 minutes or until beef is browned, stirring to crumble. Drain beef mixture, and return to pan. Stir in whole jar of marinara sauce and 1/2 teaspoon salt; cook 2 minutes or until thoroughly heated, stirring frequently.
  4. Place pasta in a 13x9-inch glass or ceramic baking dish coated with cooking spray. Spoon beef mixture over pasta mixture; sprinkle with cheese.
  5. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until cheese melts and sauce is bubbly. Garnish with basil leaves, if desired.
